Mission Statement

By providing a supporting and comprehensive array of services and advocacy for the children, youth and families of Hayward, Eden Youth and Family Center enhances the economic, social, education, and healthy well being of the community.

Eden Youth and Family Center was formed October 1977 as a result of a year-long cooperative effort of private Eden Area citizens and non-profit organizations. They shared a vision of creating a youth center that would bring together critical community resources to serve the needs of youth and whole family in a coordinated and innovative way.

This multi-service, centralized approach to youth services is particularly viable because it is more cost efficient, accessible, and diversified than non-centralized services. During the start up period, Eden Youth and Family Center was very fortunate to receive financial support from the Hayward Rotary Club, City of Hayward and the San Francisco Foundation.

Today, Eden Youth and Family Center hosts several "Member Agencies" and manages its own programs, all of which serve hundreds of children and families every day.
